Since I, David Woodward moved to Ohio from New York in the spring of 1995 was due to new job. Few people who made friend with me approached me. I have learned that there were number of anglers that are fishermen, just like me as I was a fisherman from New York. There was a fishing club here in Columbus, Ohio, called Columbus Deaf Anglers Club. Few friends encouraged me to join this fishing club, which I did. Some of the friends were talking about the National Bass Association of the Deaf, I then became curious about the NBAD. I went as my first time in 1996 to their Tournament at Lake Truman, Missouri. I find this so enjoyable and met so many other anglers from other state. I became a representative for CDAC at NBAD tournament. I was an ongoing representative for CDAC over the years. I realized that CDAC has small number of bass anglers. In the Fall of 2002, I begin inquiring with some bass anglers that I know of and had the words spread out to other anglers. Many of these anglers were eager that I plan to established a Bass Fishing organization. I find that there were a good number of bass anglers to start forming bass fishing organization. On February, 2003, we had our first meeting at Columbus Colony Housing cafeteria with about ten (10) anglers at present. We had discussed in naming the bass fishing organization, we named it as Ohio Bass Anglers of the Deaf. We picked out six (6) different lakes all over Ohio. The tournament runs from April to September and a Classic Tournament in October. Our first tournament of April 2003 had eight bass anglers and then the next tournament in May, we had 10 bass anglers. We been having average 9 bass anglers each month in 2003.
